HotJobs.com Ltd. (Nasdaq: HOTJ) rose 2 5/16 to 12 13/16 Monday after the stock was added to the Russell 3000 Index of stocks with the highest market capitalization.
“In today’s volatile market, objective performance benchmarks like the Russell 3000 Index are crucial tools for investment strategy and decision-making,” said HotJobs President and Chief Executive Richard Johnson.
Technology stocks make up a large portion of recent additions to the index. “The technology sector posted a remarkable performance” this year, said Paul Greenwood, senior research analyst at the Frank Russell Co., which publishes the index.
HotJobs.com, which went public last August, is an Internet recruiting company that matches job seekers with potential employers.
