The marquee initial public offering scheduled for this week is the long-awaited 3Com spinoff of Palm, Inc., which manufactures the Palm Pilot. In a whopping offering of 23 million shares, the company is expected to raise about $345 million, based on the proposed price range of $14 to $16. That range, however, has a good chance of being raised.
Other IPOs to watch this week include online advertising company Avenue A and Internet solutions company Niku Corporation. Both of these companies have already raised the price range for their offerings.
Also keep an eye on Onvia.com, an online marketplace for small businesses. Onvia.com, which has top business-to-business incubator Internet Capital Group as an investor, could benefit from investors' infatuation with business-to-business plays.
