See Full StoryUBid, BargainandHaggle.com and BidBay -- I mean, AuctionDiner -- all share the same
raison d'etre: to battle EBay. There's only one problem: EBay doesn't seem to be battling
back. In fact, EBay isn't getting close enough for anyone with limited resources to land
a good punch. Why should it? EBay is going to execute the EBay business plan as best it
can, not worry about the puppies nipping at its heels.

It really is all about the buyers. Sellers will go where the dollars are being spent and that is eBay and to a lesser extent, Yahoo! and Amazon.com. Until the puppies can grow some teeth with a significant number of purchasers, they will remain irrelevent.
