Salesforce.com is reportedly close to acquiring social media marketing manager Buddy Media for about $800 million. Buddy Media's main business is helping corporations manage their brand presence on Facebook. It has branched out to other social media platforms, including Google+, Twitter and LinkedIn. The reported purchase is possibly a move by Salesforce.com to fill out its core customer relationship management capabilities. Buddy Media was among the initial 14 members of Facebook's Preferred Developer Consultant Program.

We are happy to see the Facebook advertising industry getting more attention and validation It will be interesting to see what comes of Salesforce rumored acquisition of Buddy Media, but as always my focus is on my company, Nanigans--the only 'pure-play' Facebook advertising company. For those interested we're giving a taste of our FB advertising data in 5 emails to coincide with the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition. Hope we're not sounding "spammy" here, just want to share the wealth.
