I don't know about you, but I will be happy to write "The End" on the chapter we call 2008. Normally, at the end of a year I look back at some of my predictions from a year earlier and look for some indication that I was on track at least some of the time. This year is different. Who cares, really -- the big story in the economy was on no one's radar that I know of. Aside from the big meltdown that I didn't predict, there were some things that came pretty close.

Microsoft CRM as a Platform

Denis,
Check Paul Greenberg's recent blog about Microsoft's CRM Incubation Week event. Paul sat on a panel and judged 5 proof of concept applications that had been built in 3-1/2 days. You might be surprised to learn how successfully Microsoft CRM 4.0 was used by these 5 companies to build "XRM" applications. There is a pretty big story here that isn't well-known or publicized yet but Microsoft is really well poised to compete in and win the PaaS battle (not to mention the Azure strategy, which includes the CRM platform in the cloud...a real cloud...cloud 2.0 perhaps).

CRM for 2009

Well, 2008 may not have worked out so well, but the challenge it presents for us is to ensure that the predicted slowdown in 2009 doesn’t swallow up our good work. I’m hoping that the multiple options made clear to me by www.EnterpriseWizard.com will enable us to hit the ground running. Who’s with me?
